Sky News is the first TV news channel to create a permanent presence in the virtual world of Second Life. Sky News has built a replica of its News Centre to give residents a behind-the-scenes, interactive look at the newsroom. Visitors to the virtual studio can sit in presenter chairs, read the autocue and visit the gallery. They can also watch up to date headline news, weather and showbiz and take away a TV to set up in their own virtual home. And Sky News regularly holds events! If you missed being taken on a tour of the studio by their crime reporter Martin Brunt, questioning David Miliband, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, talking to celebrity presenter James May or getting tax advice from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, then sign up to the Sky News friends group in Second Life and be sure to stay in the loop.
